Johnsonville-Minnie E. Bailey, 95, of Johnsonville, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.
Minnie was born October 16, 1921 in Buskirk the daughter of the late William and Mary Ora (Sawtelle) Paul. Minnie attended school in Johnsonville and Hoosick Falls. She had worked at General Electric in Waterford until retiring.
Minnie lived in Johnsonville all of her life and was a member of the former St. Monica’s Catholic Church in Johnsonville. She was a member of the Johnsonville Vol. Fire Dept. Auxiliary and enjoyed going to the Schaghticoke Fair every year and worked the Johnsonville Fire Department’s booth. Minnie also enjoyed playing bingo, going to Atlantic City to the casinos, the oceanside and jigsaw puzzles. Minnie was well known for her homemade spaghetti and meatballs.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Desmond Bailey; a son, Edward Bailey; brothers, William Paul and Anthony Paul; a sister, Margaret LaBarge.
Minnie is survived by her children, Elizabeth Bailey (Thomas) Barbolt of Factoryville, PA, Shirley Bailey (Bernard) Fleming of Johnsonville and Robert John Bailey of Johnsonville. She is also survived by a brother, Joseph (Barbara) Paul of Johnsonville; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Ackley, Ross & Gariepy Funeral Home, 73 West Main St., Cambridge with Jeffrey C. Peck, Parish Life Director of St. Patrick’s Church in Cambridge officiating. A calling hour will be 1 hour prior to the service
Interment will be at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge.
