William Hall, III Obituary

Cambridge, NY - William Thomas Hall, III, 44, of Cambridge, New York, passed away Friday, March 27, 2026, at his residence.

Born June 24, 1981, in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, he was the son of William Thomas Hall, Jr. and Janet Dillon Hall of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Bill was raised and educated through homeschooling, going on to earn a double major in Pastoral Studies and History from Tennessee Temple University. He later received a Master of Ministry from Veritas Baptist College, along with several certifications in Information Technology.

Bill faithfully served in ministry for many years. He was the pastor of Wayside Baptist Church in Dayton, Tennessee, for 14 years, where he was known for his dedication to his congregation and his steady leadership. During that time, he also worked professionally as a Network Administrator with Suburban Manufacturing. He later served as the Applications Support Manager with Kenco Logistic Services.

In September of 2024, Bill and his family moved to Cambridge, where he became the pastor of Open Bible Baptist Church. This move fulfilled Bill’s lifelong dream of ministering in the Northeast, and he loved the people of his church and the community at large. In addition to pastoring, he worked with Janitronics and also founded his own IT business, Hallway Technology. Through the years, Bill was widely respected by business colleagues and church members alike for his integrity, wisdom, and humility.

Bill was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He married Mary Elizabeth Boley on May 13, 2006, and together they shared 19 wonderful years of marriage. Their relationship echoed the Scripture, “I found the one my soul loves.” He was also a very intentional, devoted, and wise father. He cherished time spent with his children, whether participating in Trail Life activities with his sons or reading stories to his daughters. He had a deep love for studying the Bible and Biblical Greek, and preaching. He greatly enjoyed working with technology, especially website design. He also found joy in simple pleasures such as playing cribbage with MaryBeth and spending time with all those he loved.

He was a leader in Trail Life Troop TN-0180 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he made a lasting impact on the lives of many young men.

The most defining aspect of Bill’s life was his personal relationship with Jesus Christ. As a young boy, he made the decision to trust Christ alone for salvation, and often spoke of the sure hope of heaven guaranteed to all who do so. The Word of God continues to be the unshakeable bedrock for his family during this time of loss, and they look forward to the day when they will be re-united with Bill forever in the very presence of God.

In addition to his parents, Tom and Janet Hall, Bill is survived by his beloved wife, MaryBeth Hall of Cambridge; his children, William J.C. Hall, Peter J.S. Hall, Bethany H.K. Hall, and Felicity M.E. Hall, all of Cambridge; his brothers, Stephen K. (Charity) Hall of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Daniel B. (Rachel) Hall of Marshall, Missouri; as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, William Thomas Hall, Sr. and Reba Cresswell Hall, and his maternal grandparents, Bill and Debbie Dillon.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Open Bible Baptist Church, 5 West Main Street, Cambridge, with Pastor Mark Ballard officiating. A visiting hour will be held prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
