Salem – Thomas J. Rapp, 71, of Salem, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Albany Medical Center with his wife, daughters and son-in-law Briar by his side.
Tom was born October 6, 1953 the son of the late George Rapp and Mary Frances Fleming Rapp Button. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepfather, Norm Button; his brother, George Rapp, brothers-in-law, Al Hart, Myles Reilly, Kevin Reilly and John Reilly.
Tom is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Maura Rapp; his daughters, Shanna Rapp and Jacquelyn (Briar E.) Rapp; his grandchildren, Reilly and Hudson Eastman; his siblings, Jack (Hollie) Rapp, Nancy Hart; his sisters-in-law, Debi Reilly, Sharon Reilly, Maggie Reilly and Kathy Rapp and many nieces and nephews.
Tom will be remembered for his boundless energy, his endless love for his wife, daughters, grandchildren, for his gift to gab, entertaining stories, love for classic cars, classic rock and the casinos.
Tom loved “Chef Laura’s” cooking, singing, dancing around the house, many vacations including camping, amusement parks, New Hampshire, Maine and Aruba. Tom loved swimming in the pool, the Battenkill and the Ocean no matter how cold. As a provider, protector and caregiver of those he loved, which included many beloved dogs.
At his request, there will be no services. Memorial contribution in Tom’s memory may be made to the Salem Vol. Fire Dept., P.O. Box 449, Salem, NY 12865 or the Salem Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 360, Salem, NY 12865.
Tom’s family would like to express their appreciation to the wonderful staff at Glens Falls Hospital and Albany Medical Center.
The family requests privacy as they figure out how to survive life without Tom.
