Salem-Terry L. Johnson, 60, of Salem, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at her residence with her family by her side.
Terry was born September 4, 1963 in Granville the daughter of the late Howard and Joan (Peck) Gleason.
She graduated from Granville Central School in 1982 and worked at Salem Central School as a teacher’s aide. Terry then worked at Granville Pharmacy and for the last 18 years, she worked at A & J Enterprises in Salem.
Terry was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church and the Washington County Coon & Cat Club. Terry enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved watching her special backyard birds and animals. Watching her grandchildren grow up and enjoying all of their activities were an important part of Terry’s life.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Joshua Johnson; a cousin, Susan Kirchner; brother-in-law, Andrew Johnson.
Terry is survived by her husband of 40 years, Mark W. Johnson who she married August 20, 1983; her children, Jennifer Johnson (Gary Armstrong, Jr.) and Tonya Bounds (Joshua) all of Salem; grandchildren, Zachary Johnson, Kathryn Armstrong, Joan Bounds, Charlotte Bounds, Adam Bounds; special great nephew, Kaedyn Duffy; special nieces who were like daughters, Nicole Sheldon and Alysha Brizzell; adoptive son, Devin March (Shalyn Scribner); siblings, Wendy Hathaway of Florida, Earl Gleason of Vermont, Wanda Crandall of Salem and Tammy Brizzell of Halfmoon; mother and father-in-law, David and Carla Johnson of Cambridge; sisters-in-law, Vicki (Michael) of Shushan, Mary Evans of Salem, Sherry Johnson of Adams, NY; brothers-in-law, Scott Johnson of Salem and Dan (Diana) Johnson of Shushan; many nieces and nephews and her grand puppies, Ruger and Savage.
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 1:00-4:30 pm at the Salem Firehouse, 53 South Main St., Salem.
