Stanley C. (Ford) Higgins

Gansevoort, NY - Stanley C. Higgins, born February 6, 1944, in Cambridge, New York, passed away on March 29, 2026, surrounded by love.

She lived her life with one guiding principle: family first. Being a mother, grandmother, and loved one was her greatest joy and proudest role. Her love and devotion to her family shaped

everything she did.

She is survived by her beloved children: Kevin (Lora) Higgins, Kim Higgins, and Scott (Lori) Hunter, her cherished grandchildren: Shannon Higgins, Matt (Brooke) Higgins, Peyton (Sarena Hall) Hosner, and Jackson Hunter and her sister-in-law Kathleen Ford, and nieces Heather and Rebecca Ford.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Higgins (2/17/2020), who’s passing forever changed her; and by her brother, Dennis Ford (12/5/2023).

An artist at heart, she was a gifted painter who expressed her creativity through her artwork. Her paintings reflected how she saw the world — with beauty, color, and deep feeling. Many of her pieces remain with family and friends as treasured reminders of her spirit.

She will be remembered for her loyalty to family, her creativity, and the way she always put others before herself. Her legacy of love and art will live on in all who knew her.

The family extends their deep gratitude to the staff at The Washington Center for providing exceptional care and compassion during her time there.

A private burial and memorial will be held.
