Robert J. Fiske, Sr.

Salem-On Monday April 19th, 2021 surrounded by family Robert J. Fiske Sr., 77, left this world unexpectedly. He was born in Granville, NY on March 3, 1944, the son of Hiram and Jennie (Allen) Fiske.  

Robert was a man who prioritized his family which grew into generations.  Proud father of 2, grandfather of 5, followed by 5 great grandchildren. He loved to make memories with his family through camping and made breakfast for anyone who stopped by.  Robert earned his nickname, Schemer, through his constant tricks and fun spirited plots, which his wife Thelma knew all too well.  He kept a pristine lawn decorated by spring flowers and Christmas trees, enjoyed by dogs and family, cared for by a tractor kept immaculate.

Predeceased by siblings: Hiram, Oliver, Gordon, Addie, Marion, Winona and Gertrude. 

Robert is survived by his dear wife, Thelma Potter Fiske; children, Robert Fiske, Jr. and Peggy (Daniel) Grover. Siblings; Charles (Janice) Fiske, Iona Wood, Celestia Wheeler, Lillian Baker, Carolyn (Arthur) Sherwood, and Theresa (Bernie) Dugan. 

A memorial service will be at 3 pm Sunday, April 25, 2021 at the Salem United Methodist Church, 29 West Broadway, Salem with Rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating.  A calling hour will be held one hour prior to the service.  Face coverings are required, and social distancing is to be observed.
