Saratoga Springs – Paula D. Griffith, age 111, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at her residence.
Born on July 29, 1914 in South Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (LaBarge) Hamilton. Paula graduated from South Glens Falls High School where she was Valedictorian of her class and later graduated from Fredonia College with a Bachelor’s degree in 1935.
Paula taught piano lessons for several decades. She worked at Sherwood Catheter in Argyle and later worked as a lab technician at Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge until her retirement. She was a member of the former First Baptist Church in Cambridge, where she served as organist for many years. Paula enjoyed playing the piano, listening to music, sewing, and was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees. She especially loved her beagles and cats. Paula was known for her quick wit and unwavering love for her family. She was a woman of strong faith who accepted whatever challenges came her way and persevered with gratitude, love, and strength. She was a model of strength to all who had the good fortune of knowing her.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy (Robert) Harrington of Buskirk; daughter-in-law, Norine Griffith of Saratoga Springs; grandchildren, Christopher (Christina Martens) Griffith, Alyce (Robert) Fassett, Amy (Ryan Holohan) Griffith, Wendy (Brian) English, Dawn (Jason) Slater, Tara (Lars) Tiffany, Robert (Holly) Harrington, Jr., and Brian (Megan) Harrington; great-grandchildren, Olivia, John and Charlotte Fassett, Brianna (Matt) DeGregory, Ethan (Meghan) English, Thomas English, Jackson, Jordan and Jamison Slater, Charlotte Tiffany, Robbie, Riley and Brody Harrington, and Teddy and Evelyn Harrington; and great-great-grandchildren, Silas DeGregory, and Grace and Cooper English.
She was predeceased by her husband, Watcyn Griffith; her son, Vance Griffith; and her brothers, Kenyon and Floyd Hamilton.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Ackley, Ross & Gariepy Funeral Home, 73 West Main St., Cambridge. A funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. with burial to follow at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge.
