Paul J. Marcoux

Cambridge, NY - Paul J. Marcoux, 78, of Cambridge, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vermont.

Born in Troy, New York, on September 29, 1947, Paul was the son of the late A. Donald and Helen Marcoux. He was educated in Troy and went on to build a long and respected career as a bricklayer, working for 30 years with the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers and the Bricklayers & Trowel Traders. Known for his strong work ethic and craftsmanship, Paul took great pride in his trade and the friendships he made along the way.

Paul was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.  He was a member of the VFW Post in Greenwich, New York, and was a member of the former St. Patrick’s Church in Troy and occasionally attended St. Patrick’s Church in Cambridge.

Outside of work, Paul found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved camping, fishing, and hunting, often spending time outdoors surrounded by the peace of nature. He was also an avid Dodgers fan.

Paul is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Janine Wheeler Marcoux, whom he married on June 21, 1980. He is also survived by his children, Jamie Mahoney of Florida, RobbyAnn Mahoney of Averill Park, New York, and Tracy Murley of Troy, New York; and his sisters, Karen (late Russell) Mankes of Guilderland, New York, and Francine (John) Mantyh of Florida.

He will be missed by his grandchildren — Sean Henry, Kossionna Romero, and Alysa Rose — as well as by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his brother, Donald Marcoux.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the Ackley, Ross & Gariepy Funeral Home, 73 West Main Street, Cambridge, New York, with Rev. Peter Tkocz officiating. A calling hour will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

Interment with military honors will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, New York.

Paul will be remembered for his hard work, kindness, and quiet strength. His love for his family, his faith, and the great outdoors will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
