Salem - Patricia (Crosier) Chadwick passed away at home surrounded by her children on Monday, August 5, 2024. She was born in Granville on April 7, 1946. She grew up in her grandparents’ home in Hebron with her sisters and mother.
She worked various jobs in her life, but most often spent her life working in the food industry, having owned a diner in Schuylerville in the 1970s and 80s, and later retired in 2019 having owned the Main Street Diner in Salem for nearly 20 years. She also owned and operated Spirits of Salem for several years. Patricia also worked at the Central House in Salem for years and always considered Larry to be her favorite boss (besides herself).
She is predeceased by her beloved grandparents Edward and Mary Fitzgerald, parents Mary and Harold Crosier, sisters Margaret of Salem and Marjorie of Granville, as well as her husband of nearly 20 years, Donald Chadwick.
She is survived by her beloved children Robert (Lisa) Graham of Salem; Richard Graham of Argyle; Kari Mancine of Salem; and Kimberlee Harrington of Salem. She is also survived by her grandchildren Aidan, Auriella, and Danika. She is also survived by her close cousin Mary Shaw of Salem.
Patricia enjoyed crafts and working with beads, as well as crocheting. For several years, she and Don would take an annual trip to Atlantic City, which was always the highlight of her year. She loved watching the Food Network, each NCIS and Law and Order, as well as Hawaii 5-0 and Blue Bloods. She was also a whiz at the newspaper puzzles and Wheel of Fortune. And one of her greatest joys was dragging her children to different bingo halls when they were young.
Patricia was a proud founding member of the Salem Volunteer Fire Department Support Group and became a lifetime member of the Department in 2020. She loved helping her community with the Department and did a lot to support the Department over the years making donations and working fundraisers, including the old Salem Fire Department Carnival.
Patricia’s family would like to the thank the members of the Salem Rescue Squad who always came to her aid when she needed it and were always gracious and caring to her. In her memory, donations can be made to the Salem Rescue Squad in thanks for the care and attention they gave to Patricia over the years. Donations can also be made in her honor to the Salem Volunteer Fire Department.
She will be laid to rest with her husband Donald at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery following a small committal service on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 11a.m. with Rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating. There will be no calling hours or after service gathering per Patricia’s request.
