Salem-Maryanne Clayton 86, of Salem, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 22, 2024 at her residence.
She was born May 7, 1937 in Cohoes the daughter of the late George and Grace (Borden) Peat.
Maryanne was educated in the Cohoes Schools and was a homemaker raising her children.
Maryanne enjoyed her time knitting, crocheting, playing cards, games on her computer and scratch off tickets. She was a fan of the New York Yankees.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Raymond E. Clayton; a daughter, Nancy Periard; granddaughter, Jamie Roberts; a grandson, Josh Colvin and several brothers and sisters.
Maryanne is survived by her children, Wayne (Mimi) Clayton of Grafton, Rosemarie Petty of Salem, James Clayton of Salem, Carol (Don) Wilson of Schuylerville, Tracy (Mark) Dennis of Greenwich and April (Mark) Leone of Greenwich; her siblings, Nancy Daigneault of Clarksburg, MA and Wilfred (Michelle) Peat of Port St. Lucie, FL; her grandchildren, Anthony Periard, Dana Periard, Daniel Periard, Christopher Periard, Benjamin Clayton, Nicole Colvin, Matthew Petty, Zachary Clayton, Amanda Clayton, Bryce Leone, Aleatha Dennis, Warren Dennis and many great grandchildren and nieces & nephews.
A private visitation will be at the McClellan-Gariepy Funeral Home, 19 East Broadway, Salem with interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Salem.
