Salem, NY - Mary E. King, 64, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, October 1st, 2025, at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born January 20th, 1961, in Glens Falls, NY, she was the daughter of Vincent King and Mary R. (Carpenter) King.
Mary was employed by McDonalds for many years and most recently as a manger of Stewart’s Shops in Salem and Cambridge. She could be seen greeting customers, scooping ice cream, having a quick chat, or having a great time with her team.
Mary was an avid bird watcher and gardener at her home in Salem. She was at peace at home and delighted in watching for birds, deer, turkey and the occasional bear!
Mary loved spending her early years at Cossayuna Lake where there was a family camp. She would catch baby turtles and feed them flies and raw hamburger before setting them free at summers’ end. In later years, she spent her summers at the camp on Schroon Lake where she made many new friends.
Just recently, she was predeceased by her wife, Patricia A. (D’Angelo) Foran and her brother, Thomas A. King. Several years ago, her mother Mary A. King passed as well as her brother John King.
Left to cherish her memory are her brothers, Jim King (Norma), Terry King (Sue), her sisters, Sue Duggan (Mike), and Jan Gardner (Jay), sister-in-law, Gail Carota and a stepson, Nicholas Paoletti (Stacie). Mary also leaves behind several nieces and nephews as well as step grandchildren who were all part of her family.
Special thanks to Laurie and Ashley as well as Mary’s care team at home and on Tower 2 as well as the Salem Rescue Squad.
Calling hours will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Tuesday, October 21st at the McClellan-Gariepy Funeral Home, 19 East Broadway, Salem. A service in celebration of Mary’s life will follow at 4:00 pm led by the Rev. Debbie Earthrowl.
