Marty was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, whose kind heart and good humor will be deeply missed.

Born on May 6, 1949, in Cooperstown, New York, he was the son of the late Raymond Sherman Rogers and Dorothy Martin Rogers. He was raised in Milford, New York, by his parents and maternal grandmother, Helen Martin.

An avid outdoorsman throughout his life, Marty enjoyed camping, canoeing, hunting, and fishing. He loved spending time in the Adirondacks and learning about the region’s rich history. He was a member of the Captain Maxson Post 634 American Legion in Cambridge, NY, and a former member of the Upper Hudson Beagle Club in Thurman, NY.

Marty graduated from Milford Central School in 1967 and earned his associate degree in mechanical engineering from SUNY Morrisville in 1969. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1971. He retired as a machine operator from SCA Tissue in Middle Falls, New York, in 2015.
