Shushan - Louise B. Keys, 92, of Shushan, passed away Saturday morning, February 22, 2025, at the Glens Falls Center in Glens Falls, NY.
Born on April 2, 1932, in Cambridge, NY, Louise was the daughter of the late Henry and Ruth (Higgins) Beattie. She graduated from Salem Washington Academy in 1951 and spent much of her life working on the family farm, where she cared deeply for her family and the land she loved. A longtime member of the Salem United Methodist Church, Louise found great fulfillment in teaching Sunday school and contributing to her church community. Louise is survived by her children: Pamelia Keys of Syracuse, Susan (Jonathan) Neil of Shushan, Andy (Lynn) Keys of Shushan, and Michael (Karen) Keys of Pocahontas, AR. She is also survived by her sister, Doris Rice of Virginia, and her grandchildren: Travis (Holly) Keys, Tara Keys, Madison (Steve) Driscoll, Josh (Amy) Neil, Sierra (Steve) Beare, Shannon Neil, and Lance (Amanda) Keys. She was the proud grandmother of thirteen great-grandchildren and had many nieces and nephews who cherished her.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gordon A. Keys who passed away October 4, 1991; an infant son, Howard G. Keys and six siblings, Karl Beattie, Charles Beattie, Barbara Hunter, Winifred McKeighan, Mary Perkins, and Patricia Richardson.
