Lou and Bob were high school sweethearts and celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on September 5th, 2020, with a vow renewal ceremony and reception at their home in the presence of their closest friends and family.

Lou was born on October 2, 1950 at Mary McClellen Hosptial in Cambridge, NY. Most of her childhood was spent at 10 Myrtle Avenue in Cambridge until her family moved to 20 West Main Street. As a young child, she loved spending time with her Grandma Ina Durrin, where she learned and enjoyed many things such as cooking, baking, crocheting and wearing make-up. She was rarely seen without her lipstick on.

After graduating from CCS in 1968, Lou attended Adirondack Community College and earned an Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Science at the top of her class. She worked as a secretary at the state offices in Albany until she and Bob started their family.

Lou dedicated most of her life to being a stay-at-home mom. Throughout the years, she worked for the family company, Durrin Inc. She was an active member of the community; Girl Scout leader, volunteer of the Cambridge Valley Athletic Association and the Cambridge Food Co-Op.

For those who knew Lou, she was uplifting, loving, and compassionate to all. The love for her children and family was remarkable. They were her life. She was a nurturer to many.

Lou’s legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; her Faith, love and dedication will prevail.

Thank you, Lord for our mom, and Nana. We are so blessed.
