John Giblo, Jr. Obituary

Cambridge, NY-On Wednesday, January 20, 2021, John William Giblo, Jr. “Jack" loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away peacefully at home at the age of 72.

John was born June 6, 1948 and raised in Chicopee, Massachusetts. He went on to receive an Associates degree from Western New England College, and a Bachelors degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology. On February 1, 1980, he married Leah (Kerin) and they raised three children together. He was a gifted salesman and an incredibly hard worker. John and Leah eventually retired to Cambridge, NY.

John loved hiking and jogged several miles each day, up until the day he passed. He was a wonderful photographer and his pictures can be found hanging on walls in many places.  He was extremely proud of his Polish heritage and one of the highlights of his years was making Kapusta with his sister for the annual July 4th family reunion.

He was a funny, kind and generous man and a friend to all. He never met a stranger. He was always thinking of others and how he could help. He volunteered for The Mustard Seed soup kitchen for many years, even driving two states away after moving. But above all else, he was a loving and deeply devoted husband to his wife, Leah. He loved her fiercely. He took amazing care of her, and built his life around her care.

John was predeceased by his parents, John Sr. and Bertha (Chliszczyk) Giblo, and his sister, Janice Veremey (Giblo). He is survived by his wife, Leah Giblo (Kerin), his sons, Justin Avery and Luke Avery, his daughter, Greta Reda (Giblo), his many adored grandchildren, his sister, Carol Kazezski (Giblo) and many extended family members. He will be missed immensely.

Plans for a memorial service will be delayed due to Covid.
