SALEM– Jeffrey Allen Cary, 68, of Salem, New York, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Glens Falls Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Cambridge, NY on January 26, 1957, to Edward and Doris Cary (Nelson).
Jeff was a graduate of Salem Central School and went on to enter the world of self-employment, running a successful dairy supply business serving the local farm industry for over 40 years. He was passionate about agriculture, showcased incredible work ethic and was dedicated to his customers. Jeff enjoyed sharing his stories of the one that got away and all the different experiences he had with his friends and family hunting and fishing. Jeff always had a smile on his face and a smart remark ready to fill the room with laughter.
He was an avid outdoorsman, an extremely talented hunter, fisherman, and trapper for many years. He enjoyed camping with friends, gardening, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, boating on Cossayuna, Lake St. Catherine and Lake Bomoseen. Jeff was an avid golfer qualifying for many championships throughout his life. Jeff had a passion for cooking and canning; eventually perfecting his soups, pickles and salsa. Jeff loved driving his grandchildren around his property on his side by side and other recreational vehicles. Jeff loved his animals and leaves behind his best companion, Carter. Jeff was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who would do anything for anyone. Time with his family, friends, being outside, fishing and serving the farming community were what made him happiest.
