Glen Girard Obituary

Hebron, NY - It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Glen Bertin Girard, 48, who peacefully left us on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Glen was born on February 2, 1977, in Edmundston, Canada, to Bertin and Maxine (Madore) Girard. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Glen graduated from Terryville High School in Terryville, CT, and went on to earn an Associate Degree from Porter and Chester Institute in Waterbury, CT. Over the course of his distinguished 20 plus year career at DynaLock Security Co. in Bristol, CT, Glen worked in various roles before retiring as an Electronic Engineer. He dedicated himself to troubleshooting problems and ensuring the satisfaction of customers, a testament to his work ethic and commitment to excellence.

An avid outdoorsman, Glen had a deep love for nature. He enjoyed fishing, maple syruping, camping with friends, sitting by the campfire listening to music or playing music on his guitar, and building his own home, which he cherished as a place of peace and solace. Glen also had a passion for woodworking and spent countless hours creating beautiful, meaningful pieces with his hands. His creativity and love for craftsmanship were evident in everything he touched.

Glen is survived by his devoted wife of 12 years, Kimberli A. Meehan Girard; his son, Joshua Dennis, and his fiancé, Makenzie O’Brien, of Hebron, NY; his mother, Maxine Madore Girard, of Terryville, CT; his brother, Danny Girard, and his wife, Erin, of Bethel, CT; and his maternal grandmother, Eva Madore, of Plainville, CT. He will also be dearly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was predeceased by his father, Bertin Girard, and his maternal grandfather, Jean B. Madore; an uncle, Jean Madore, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Clarence Girard and Eugenie (Therrien) Girard and his beloved Border Collie Blaze.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Glen will be held at a later date.

The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Glen’s memory to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.

Glen’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His generosity, talent, and passion for life touched all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be remembered with great affection, and his spirit will forever remain in the quiet woods and the thoughtful creations he left behind.
