George Daniel DeMarsico

Cambridge, NY - George Daniel DeMarsico, 68, of Cambridge, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025, at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation at Hoosick Falls. Born on September 14, 1957, in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elaine (Owens) DeMarsico.

George grew up in upstate New York and graduated from Glens Falls High School with the Class of 1975. Throughout his life, he held a variety of jobs and later spent ten years working for Nexans Energy in Newburgh, NY, before retiring. He lived in Middletown, NY, for approximately forty years before moving to Cambridge in recent years. While in Middletown, George was an active member of the Sons of the American Legion, an affiliation he valued deeply and he enjoyed being with his friends in Middletown.

George had a love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing. He treasured his time at the family camp on Lake Champlain, where he spent many peaceful days on the water. He also enjoyed deep sea fishing and followed New York sports closely, with the New York Yankees holding a special place in his heart.

George is survived by his sister, Valerie Eldred (Bill Gilbo) of Cambridge. He is also survived by four nieces and one nephew—Geina Eldred, Paula Eldred, Andy Harrington, Angie Eldred, and Joslin Gilbo—as well as many cousins. His family remembers him with affection and gratitude for the memories they shared.

A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025, at the Salem United Methodist Church, 29 West Broadway, Salem, with Rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating. A reception will follow the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
