Rupert, VT-Frances “Aggie” Louise Armstrong, 96, of Rupert, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, April 27, 2021 at her residence.
Born December 13, 1924 in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John and Adeline (Buzzard) Kramer.
Aggie was educated in Columbus, Ohio and during World War II, she worked at Curtis Wright which made War Planes where she was one of the Rosie the Rivetor.
She met her husband, John Armstrong while he was in the U.S. Army Air Corps stationed in Columbus, Ohio. They eventually married and moved to John’s hometown of Rupert where Aggie worked at the Lewis Brothers Pick Mill for many years. She then worked at Fossils in Rupert for 10 years until she retired. Aggie also helped her friends in the Rupert area by running errands, cooking and caring for them for many years. Aggie was honored by the Town for her years of service and dedication to the community.
She attended the Rupert United Methodist Church and was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America in Wells, Vt and worked the food booth at the Rupert Carnival each year.
Aggie loved feeding and watching the birds and made sure that the ferel cats were fed every day.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Armstrong; her siblings, Geneva, Gracie, Delbert, Carl, Marietta, Diana, William, Mildred and John.
Aggie is survived by her children, John Armstrong of Rupert and Lynda and her husband Mike Karpinski of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Stacey Duran and James Karpinski; great grandchildren, Raymond and Anthony Karpinski. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the Rupert Cemetery with Pastor Mike McKeighan officiating.
