West Rupert, VT-Evan Wetterauw, 83, of West Rupert, Vermont, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021.
Evan was born May 12, 1938, in Suffern, NY, to Martin and Alice (Ebersole) Wetterauw.
He grew up in Allendale NJ, and attended Ramsey High School, graduating in 1956. Evan was a self-employed printer until retiring in 2000 and moving to West Rupert, VT.
He was a talented wood worker making many pieces that were shared and treasured by his family. He enjoyed spending time outdoors as well as camping with his family over the years.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Wetterauw; son Stephen Wetterauw his wife Mary and daughter Kelsey; daughter Cheryl Wetterauw, son-in-law Ricardo Zamudio, grandsons Shayne and Adam Zamudio; daughter Hannah Camara her husband Jason and their children Lucas and Tyler.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Betsy Wetterauw.
Calling hours are Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 3-5 pm at the McClellan-Gariepy Funeral Home, 19 East Broadway, Salem. A service will begin at 5 pm. Due to new guidelines set by N.Y.S. and CDC, masks will not be required for attendees who are fully vaccinated, however they are recommended. Those who are not vaccinated will still be required to wear a mask while inside the funeral home; this will be based on the honor system.
