Salem-Etta D. Patrick, 79, of Salem, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at her residence with her family by her side.
Etta was born August 6, 1944 in Belleville, IL the daughter of the late Cecil and Alice (Farley) Dunbar.
She graduated from Corinth Central School in 1962 and worked at Sheridan Catheter in Argyle; Montgomery Ward in Cambridge during the 1970’s; she then worked at the Cambridge Valley Mushroom Farm as the Assistant Manager and retired from the Town & Country Hardware Store in 2003 after more than 10 years of service.
Etta was an active member of the Salem United Methodist Church; the Green Mountain Antique Car Club; the Antique Automobile Club of America and the Harley Owners Group (Ladies of Harley).
Etta was proud to have received her motorcycle license the day before her birthday in 2005 and enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle. She loved camping, gardening, especially flowers. She always looked forward to antique shopping, bowling, traveling, spending time with her family and was fond of NASCAR #14 Tony Stewart. Etta was an animal lover of all kinds.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her dear friends, Margie Simmons Griffin, Carol Rose Meyers and Peggy Guber.
Etta is survived by her husband of 59 years, Sherwood A. Patrick who she married May 16, 1964; a son and her favorite daughter-in-law, Ronald and Lenise ‘Nisa’ Patrick of Jackson; siblings, Cecil Dunbar, Jr. of Saratoga, Charles Dunbar of Corinth and Diane Dunbar of Greenfield Center, NY. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Tristan (Amanda Stark) Waite of Greenwich, Jace (Samantha Ng) Patrick of Schenectady and Timothy (Marina Hands) Patrick of Greenwich; a god daughter, Sarah Bussing of Argyle; her “Country Cuzins”, Paulette, Dixie, Fawn, Colleen, Inga, Vivy, Linda, Carolyn, Cindy, Dawn, Lori & Teri; sister-in-law, Dorothy (Warren) Coolidge of Cambridge; brothers-in-law, Curtis (Lise Malloy) Patrick of Cambridge, John Patrick of Lakeland, FL and many nieces, nephews & cousins.
A memorial service will be at 10:00 am Monday, November 13, 2023 at the Salem United Methodist Church, 29 west Broadway, Salem with rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating. Interment will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
