Buskirk - Ernest F. Trinkle, II, 85, a resident of Buskirk, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls, NY. Born on August 13, 1939, in New Milford, CT, he was the eldest son of Ernest and Bertha Rose Trinkle.
Ernest graduated from Cambridge Central High School and dedicated his career to Wadham’s Trucking in Cambridge, NY, Nastech in Bennington, VT, and the Battenkill Creamery in Salem, NY, retiring at age 84. He was a member of the South Cambridge Methodist Church and the Pleasant Valley Grange, he married Vera Welling Trinkle on October 5, 1968. Together, they raised six children, instilling values of hard work and community. Ernest found joy in farming and cherished time spent with family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Vera; children, Ernest Trinkle III of Lake George, NY; Timothy Trinkle of Buskirk, NY; Dennis Trinkle of Amsterdam, NY; Heather (T.J.) Greenawalt of Buskirk, NY; Matthew (Kristi) Trinkle of Buskirk, NY; and Sherman Trinkle of Granville, NY. He was a proud grandfather to Jared, Jacob, Justin, Brandon, Bryan, Danyelle, Elizabeth, and David. He is also survived by his sister, Rosemary (Timothy) Tripp of Glens Falls, NY. Ernest was predeceased by his parents, sisters Rose Korb and Wilma McNall, and brother Carl Trinkle.
A calling hour will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM at the Ackley, Ross & Gariepy Funeral Home, located at 73 West Main Street, Cambridge, NY. Interment will follow at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge, NY.
