Cossayuna - Ellen R. Napiwocki, 76, of Cossayuna, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Glens Falls Hospital.
She was born February 6, 1947 in Pittsburgh, PA the daughter of the late Franklin and Katherine (Kemmerer) Brown.
Ellen graduated from Gateway High School in Monroeville, PA and received her nursing degree from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia, PA.
Ellen was a Registered Nurse at St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, NJ and then at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ, where she taught Lamaze classes. She then became a Registered Lactation Consultant for many years until retiring in 2005 when she & Ed moved to Cossayuna.
Ellen was an active member of the Hebron United Presbyterian Church where she was a past Deacon. She was a member of the Historic Salem Courthouse and, being an avid reader, local book clubs. Ellen loved dogs and trained and showed Golden Retrievers.
Ellen was a kind & loving mother & her grandchildren were her greatest joy. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Edward W. Napiwocki who she married July 12, 1969; her children, Sharon Napiwocki and her husband Bob Tibbetts of Commerce Township, MI and David Napiwocki of Park City, UT; siblings, Margie Kieley of Latham, NY, Betsy Wagner of Johnstown, PA, Frank Brown of Etters, PA and Alan Brown of Johnstown, PA; grandchildren, Brynn, Delaney and Zoe. Her generous friendship was one of her most cherished gifts.
A memorial service will be at 11 am Friday, January 19, 2024 at the Hebron United Presbyterian Church, 3153 County Route 30, Salem.
