Dena Lowe Obituary

Cambridge - Dena Sue Lowe, 82, of Cambridge, Town of Jackson, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020 at her residence.

Born December 26, 1937 in Pauls Valley, OK, she was the daughter of the late John Stevens Warren and Gertrude T. Lees.

Dena graduated from Maud Public High School in Maud, OK where she met her future husband, Richard Leighton Lowe.  She then attended Oklahoma Baptist University where she received her nursing degree.

Dena was the Public Health Administrator for Tulsa Public Health in Tulsa, OK.  She then moved to Dallas, TX and worked as a school nurse in Mesquite, TX.  The family spent a brief 10 months in California before moving to Milford, CT where Dena worked as a registered Nurse at the local hospital.  Dena became the Director of Visiting Nurses in Orange, CT.  Seeking a change of pace after 10 years in Connecticut, Dena and husband Richard moved to Jackson in 1985 and started an antique business, Lowe’s Loft.

Dena was active in the community and served as curator for the Cambridge Historical Society for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Richard Leighton Lowe who passed away in 2013; a brother, Donald Warren; and her step-sister, M.J. “Push” Howard.

Dena is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Richard Warren and Adrienne Lowe of Staten Island; her grandson, Jon Leighton Lowe of Tucson, AZ; and her niece, Lois Kingsley of Mustang, OK.

A service in Dena’s honor will be held at a later date and will be announced.
