Deborah M. (Horton) Whitman

Cambridge-Deborah M. Whitman, 67, of Cambridge, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, April 11, 2023 at her residence with her family by her side.

She was born in Schenectady July 14, 1955 the daughter of the late Edward and Ann (Hoffman) Horton.

Deborah graduated from Albany High School and attended Schenectady Community College, majoring in accounting.  She was a bookkeeper for various companies for 25 years.  She was also an End of Life Caregiver for 12 years.  Deborah last worked at the West Mountain Inn in Arlington, VT for 8 years.

Deborah loved dogs and birds.  She enjoyed crocheting, reading, gardening and going to the ocean in Maine.  She was proud to say that she visited the Redwood Forest in California.  Deborah loved taking care of her family and spending time with her grandson.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Dennis Horton.

Deborah is survived by her daughter, Victoria Marshall and her husband, Michael Reed of Cambridge; a grandson, August Reed of Cambridge; siblings, Edward Horton and his wife Bonnie of Schenectady and Gale Butler-Kuhlkin and her husband John of Glens Falls; her sister-in-law, Luva Horton of Colonie; her godmother, Patricia Salisbury of Albany.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family will celebrate Deborah’s life at a later date.
