Cambridge – Charlotte M. Morris, 85, a resident of Cambridge, passed away Friday, February 2, 2024 at her residence.
She was born May 9, 1938 in Cambridge the daughter of the late Francis and Doris (Bain) Quackenbush.
Charlotte worked most of her adult life as a babysitter for her grandsons and the neighborhood children in Greenwich. Later in life, she worked for many years at the Aspen Motel in Manchester, VT.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte was predeceased by her husband, Walter E. Morris; a son, Francis (Frank) Morris; grandsons, Jonathan Morris and Jason Kirk; brothers, Charles (Cubby), Richard (Dick) and Steven Quackenbush; a sister and her husband, Frances (Channey) Butler; a brother-in-law, Roger Boynton.
Charlotte is survived by a daughter, Kelly Ingram of Cocoa Beach, FL; a grandson, Joshua (Crystal) Kirk of Hebron; her great grandson, Aram Kirk of Hebron; her brother, John (Marion) Quackenbush of Greenwich, her sister, Ruby Boynton of Arlington, VT; her sisters-in-law, Pauline Quackenbush of Shushan and Cindy Quackenbush of Herkimer and many loved nieces and nephews.
Charlotte spent her final years living happily on her own and enjoying the time with her “baby”, her great grandson Aram. He called her “GG” and the love they shared was very special.
A graveside service will be at 11 am Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge with Rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating.
Following the service a small reception will be held in the Community Room at 2 Cambridge Woods Lane for family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice in memory of Charlotte.
