Carol Vieira Obituary

Cambridge – Carol L. Vieira, 81, of Cambridge, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Brookdale Fillmore Pond in Bennington, VT.

Carol was born November 22, 1942 in Lakewood, NJ the daughter of the late Arthur and Elsie (Firtel) Perlmutter.

Carol graduated from Lakewood High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College and a master’s degree from Hofstra University.

Carol was a teacher in the Central Islip School District for 30 years until she retired.

She loved playing the piano and singing.  She was a master gardener enjoying all kinds of flowers.  Carol was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Red Hat Society.

Carol is survived by her husband, Ronald P. Vieira who she married in 1971; her children, Allison Goericke and her husband Peter of Fishkill, NY and Beth Stacy and her husband Brian of Hopewell Junction, NY; a sister, Lois Hatcher (late Sammy) of Georgia; three grandchildren, Liam, Zoey and Soren.

Visiting hours are Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 2-4 pm at the Ackley, Ross & Gariepy Funeral Home, 73 West Main St., Cambridge.

Memorial contributions in memory of Carol may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1003 Loudon Rd., Cohoes, NY  12047.
