Hebron- Carol M. Campbell, 81, of Hebron, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Glens Falls Hospital. Carol was born October 09, 1939 in Ballston Spa and was the daughter of the late Edward and Irene (Latham) McNutt. She attended Saratoga High School. Carol was the Matriarch of Carolray Farm. With her strong religious beliefs, a loving heart, and an unwavering dedication to family and farm, she guided the daily operations. Through her commitment the farm was awarded Dairy of Distinction for over twenty years, which she was very proud of. She also worked as the Town of Hebron Tax Collector in the 1970’s.
Friend or foe, neighbor or stranger, you were always welcome to sit at the table and partake in one of Carol’s home cooked meals. From requests for homemade strawberry shortcake, fresh blueberry pancakes for the milk tester, to breakfast for the school bus driver, she was always ready for the task. Carol was the quintessential 4-H Leader. Over the years she formed several 4-H clubs including, the Clover Buds, Junior Farmers, and Hebron Dairyman. She truly believed in the 4-H moto, “To Make the Best Better”. Carol spent many years volunteering at the Washington County Fair. In her early years she enjoyed riding in and attending local horse shows. Later in life she focused on crafting and growing all varieties of plants. She was member of the Hebron United Presbyterian Church and also attended Argyle Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Rea D. Campbell, who passed away November 20, 2018, a sister, Elizabeth Huffmire, a grandson, Bradley Campbell and daughter in laws, Molly Campbell and Gabriela Campbell.
Carol is survived by her children; John Campbell of Weldon, CA, Dennis (Vicky) Campbell and Brian (Mary Kay) Campbell, all of Hebron; grandchildren; Mathew Campbell and his significant other Ariel Garland of Hebron, Kelsey Campbell and her significant other Bo Brummagyn of Hartford, Emily Campbell of Raleigh, NC, and Kyle Campbell of Hebron; sister-in-law, Anna Young of Cohoes, nieces and nephews; Craig (Joanne) Knickerbocker Jr of Middle Grove, Kim (Karen) Knickerbocker of New Windsor, NY, Ellen Drumm of Washington,DC, Jeffrey (Mary) Bradt and Susan (Tom) Dion all of Cohoes, a former daughter-in-law, Pamela Armstrong of Hartford.
Funeral services will be held in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery in Salem.
