Bernice Periard Obituary

Cambridge - Bernice M. Periard, 67, a longtime resident of Cambridge, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Albany Medical Center. A woman who deeply loved her family and community, Bernice will be remembered for her kindness, her devotion to her loved ones, and her quiet strength.
Born on September 15, 1957, in Cambridge, NY, Bernice was the daughter of the late Charles and Bernice (Burch) Nolan. She attended Greenwich Central School and spent much of her adult life contributing to her community, first through her work at Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge for nine years, and later at Cambridge Central School, where she dedicated 25 years before retiring. Bernice found purpose in her work, always taking pride in helping others, and was well-respected by her colleagues and the many families she served.
Outside of work, Bernice enjoyed simple pleasures—watching her favorite television shows, spending time outdoors, and caring for her dog, Junior, who was a constant companion to her. She found peace in nature and in quiet moments, and she will be remembered for her gentle spirit and loving nature.
Bernice was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Raymond E. Periard, Jr., who passed away on August 2, 2022 and also by her grandson, Derreck Keath who passed away November 30, 2011.
She is survived by her children: Bruce (Chrissy) Periard of Cambridge, Bryan (Crystal) Periard of Greenwich, Chad (Laura) Periard of Salem, and Jennifer Periard of Clifton Park. Bernice was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren: Christopher Periard, Kennedy Periard, Devan Linendoll, Bruce Periard, Jr., Emma Periard, Raymond Periard and Maximus Periard. She also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Autumn Thibeau and Ernie Weir, Jr.
A cherished sister, Bernice is survived by her siblings: Dave (Melinda) Nolan of Jacksonville, FL, Mike (Charlotte) Nolan of Ballston Spa, Larry (Tara) Nolan of South Glens Falls, and Chuck (Sheila) Nolan of Glens Falls.
A private service will be held to honor Bernice’s life and memory.
Though she is no longer with us, Bernice’s legacy of love and care for her family will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be greatly missed but always remembered with love.
