Salem-William F. Dunn, Jr., 78, formerly of Salem, passed away Monday, January 15, 2018 at the Granville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Born May 15, 1939 in Hanover, NH, he was the son of the late William F. Dunn, Sr. and Ann Mary (Pottala) Dunn.

Bill graduated from Lebanon High School in Lebanon, NH and attended Meat Cutting School in Ohio.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962.

Bill worked as a meat cutter and manager for the Grand Union in Manchester, VT, Salem and then Greenwich until he retired.  He was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church; a member of the Francis J. Clark American Legion Post 812 in Salem and a former member of the Salem Vol. Fire Dept.

Bill's favorite hobbies were gardening, fishing and hunting.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Karen Dunn.

Bill is survived by his children, Laurie Wilson and her husband Jay Eli "Skip" Wilson, III of Rupert, VT, James Dunn and his wife Phyllis of Granite Falls, NC and Brenda Morey of Danby, VT.  He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Jay Eli Wilson, IV, Kendra Leanne Wilson and Camille Morey; a great grandson, Jay Eli Wilson, V; close friend, Joan Green of Salem.

A calling hour will be from 2-3 pm on Friday, January 19, 2018 at the McClellan-Gariepy Funeral home, 19 East Broadway, Salem.  A service will begin at 3 pm with Rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating.

Interment with military honors will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville at a later date.
