Watervliet-Wayne B. Chesley, 73 of Watervliet, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 28, 2018 at his residence.

Born October 19, 1944 in Albany, he was the son of the late Arthur and Isabel (Shaw) Chesley.

Wayne graduated from Albany High School and in the early 1970's he went to work for Williams Press in Menands until they closed.  He then went into the food industry for several years and ended with Aramark Food Service for 10 years.  In 1995, Wayne started working at Albany Medical Center in the parking garage and he then transferred to the Mailroom retiring after 20 years of service.

Wayne liked betting on the horses at OTB; going to the Rascino in Saratoga and enjoyed an occasional beer.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his brothers, Richard M. Chesley, Ronald E. Chesley and Dennis L. Chesley; his longtime friend, Mary Ellen Cavanaugh who passed away April 18, 2013.

Wayne is survived by his 2 children, David Chesley and his companion, Jennifer Putnam of Johnsonville and Dawn Marie Neer of Green Island.  He is also survived by his longtime friends, Floyd "Skip" Pratt and Lori Thompson and his canine grand dog, Tugs.

A graveside funeral service will be at 10:00 am Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge with Pastor Andrew Strickland officiating.
