Buskirk-Wanda J Hunt, 98, of Buskirk, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation at Hoosick Falls.  Prior to the Health Center and the Danforth Adult Home, Wanda lived in Buskirk, NY. The past 18 years, she lived with her son Stanley Sr. and daughter in law Carol Hunt who cared for her as she was no longer able to live alone.

Wanda was fortunate to live a very long life and see five generations of children. She enjoyed reading books, watching westerns and rodeos as well as playing bingo with the elderly and enjoying good food. She was also an avid bird lover.

She was born on August 16, 1917 in Pittsfield, Mass. to the late Anthony Raczkowski and Bertha Miezjewski. Wanda's parents were originally from Russia, Poland.

She was married to the late Irving Hunt who passed away in 1973.

Wanda is predeceased by three children, Patrice Hunt, Larry Joe Hunt of Buskirk and Marie Rogers of Bennington, VT and her siblings, Sister Mary Regina of Castleton, NY, Adela Trzoskowski, Ernest, Edwin, Stanley, and Chester Raczkowski all of Schenectady, NY.

Wanda is survived by her son Stanley Hunt (Carol) and daughter Linda Hunt of Buskirk, NY, son Edwin Hunt (Louise) of Hoosick Falls, NY and son Ernest Hunt (Donna) and Dorothy Strong (Dennis) of Bennington, VT.

Having three generations of grandchildren there are unfortunately too many to list.

A calling hour will be held Friday, July 8, 2016 from 9-10 am at the Ackley, Ross & Gariepy Funeral Home, 73 West Main St., Cambridge.  A funeral service will begin at the conclusion of the calling hour at 10 am.

Burial will take place immediately following service at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Rotterdam.
