Sally was born April 9, 1938 to J. Gordon and V. Elizabeth Felton in North Tonawanda, New York. She graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1956 and attended SUNY Plattsburgh where she graduated in 1961 as a Registered Nurse with a Bachelors of Science in Education as a School Nurse Educator. Her first job upon graduation was with the Visiting Nurse Service in New York City. Shortly after, she met her husband, Bob, while travelling in Rome and married stateside in 1966. When she moved to Eagleville in the early 80s, Sally began a career with BOCES in Cambridge and eventually in Hudson Falls. She retired in 2011 with 27 years of service.
Sally never had an idle moment and was a true servant of her community. She was active with the Boy Scouts of America for over two decades. She organized annual Thanksgiving baskets and adopted BOCES families for Christmas. She was a deacon at the Cambridge United Presbyterian Church, a Cambridge Food Pantry volunteer and a Code Blue Shelter volunteer. She was named a Shining Star by the Post Star in 2015 for her commitment to others. Until her own illness, she faithfully drove friends to doctor's appointments.
Sally is pre-deceased by her husband, Robert Edward O'Donnell. She is survived by her three sons: Robert (Hayley) of Cincinnati, OH; Paul (Melissa) of Schuylerville and Michael O'Donnell of Malta and her siblings: Linda (Richard) Van Valkenburgh of Orchard Park, NY; Susie (Patrick) Ferrari of Macedon, NY, a sister in law, Carmen Felton (James Gordon Felton, deceased) of Long Beach, NY and John Felton of Hamburg, NY.
