Obituary

White Creek - Ronald L. Gallett, 77, of White Creek, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on January 12, 1948, in Bennington, VT, Ronald was the son of the late Francis and Flora (Snow) Gallett. A 1968 graduate of Mt. Anthony High School in Bennington, he later served his country with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and was honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist 4 (SP4), a testament to his dedication and commitment. Ronald went on to lay the foundation for a life full of hard work, perseverance, and an unwavering love for his family.

Ronald's career spanned many years and various roles. He worked as a cook at Heritage House in Bennington, and later, alongside Edward Frechette at Catamount Caps, where he crafted camper caps and truck covers. His time at Green Mountain Furniture, where he met his beloved wife, Marilyn, was another chapter in his journey. Ronald's final role was as a Mechanical Engineer Technician at Vermont Composites, where he spent 30 years until retiring in 2012.

In his personal life, Ronald found joy in simple pleasures. He loved spending time outdoors, whether fishing and camping on the tranquil shores of Lake Champlain in Westport, NY, or hunting in his younger years. He also enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, a hobby that brought him great joy. But above all, Ronald cherished his time with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

Ronald was deeply involved in his community, attending Cornerstone Church in Cambridge, where he was an active volunteer, helping with the monthly dinners. He was also a former member of the Bennington American Legion and the Moose Club in Bennington.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Harrington Gallett, whom he married on April 1, 1989; his children, Aaron Francis Gallett (Valene) of Arlington, VT, Jessica Leigh Tifft (Ernest) of Pownal, VT, Ernest B. Warren, III (Terri) of Cambridge, NY, Deborah L. Yanke (Darrin) of Cambridge, NY, and Mark A. Warren of Troy, NY. Ronald also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Cobie Gallett, Jacob Gallett, Jordan Reynolds, Mckaleigh Reynolds, Brielle Tifft, Samantha Warren, Sarah Warren, Carolyn Grogan, and Amber Yanke, along with great-grandchildren Nyjah Reynolds, Leonardo Derosia, Tessa Derosia, Theodore Derosia, Zayden Grogan, Abigail Grogan, Allyssa Grogan, and Tristin Sigot. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Gerald Brillion of Shaftsbury, VT, and nephews Jeff Brillion and Shawn Brillion.

Ronald was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Flora (Snow) Gallett, his stepmother, Rhoda Gallett Burgess, and his sister, Arlene Brillion.
