Shushan-Robert "Bob" R. Thomas, of Shushan, passed away Monday, June 13, 2016 at Glens Falls Hospital.  He was 79.

Born on August 10, 1936 in Wilmington, VT, he was the son of the late William and Florence (Decker) Thomas.  In addition to his parents, Bob was also predeceased by his brother, William "Bill" Thomas and a grandson, Michael Thomas, Jr.

Bob was an avid hunter and had worked construction for 34 years in the Laborers Union Local 452 of Troy.  Upon retirement, Bob worked part time for the Village of Salem DPW.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty (West) Thomas; his sons, David (Aileen) Thomas of Ballston Spa and Mike Thomas, Sr. (friend Colleen McAvoy) of Shushan; three grandchildren, Carol (Marcus) Cummings and Bryan Thomas, both of Fairbanks, AK and Nicole (Zakk) Thomas of Ashburn, VA; his brothers, George (Joyce) Thomas of Cambridge and Frank (Bea) Thomas of Shushan and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours and services will be private.
