Obituary

Buskirk - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert William Seeley, known to family and friends as Bob, at the age of 80. Born on December 30, 1944, in Hudson Falls, NY, Bob was the son of Vivian and Ward Seeley. He grew up in Hudson Falls, where his passion for football began. Bob was especially proud to have played for the Greenjackets, a New York state semi-pro football team, after high school. His love for sports was a defining aspect of his life.

On December 27, 1970, Bob married Deanne Brandon of Celina, Ohio. Together, they moved to Bourbonnais, Illinois, where they raised three children: Kelsey, Erin, and Brandon. They spent 17 years in Illinois before relocating to Buskirk, NY, where Bob and his beloved wife, Dee, spent the remainder of his life.

A devoted sports enthusiast, Bob's involvement in coaching was something he cherished, particularly when he had the opportunity to coach his own children. He spent countless hours on the golf course throughout his life and especially looked forward to his Wednesday golf outings with his cousin, Tim Seeley, in his later years.

Bob's humor, kindness, and unique personality touched all who knew him. He was a dedicated caregiver, always ready to offer support and kindness to family and strangers alike. His love for his family and his commitment to those around him were evident in every aspect of his life. Bob was also a faithful member of the Coila Church, where he found great joy in his Bible study and fellowship with his church family.

Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Deanne (Deedee), of Buskirk, NY; his daughters, Kelsey Demarah (Dave) of Bourbonnais, IL and Erin Boggan of St. Mary's, GA; his son, Brandon Kemper Seeley (Geri) of Washington, DC; and his son, Wil Ellis of North Carolina. Also surviving are his sister, Virginia (Chicky) and her husband Skip of Queensbury, NY, along with several cherished grandchildren: Jack Boggan, Cole Boggan, Aidan Demarah, Declan Demarah, Bodhi Kemper Seeley, and Sawyer Kemper Seeley.

A celebration of life will be at 3 pm Sunday, May 25, 2025 at the Coila Church, 93 State Route 372, Cambridge.  A reception will follow in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Northeastern New York Chapter, 1003 New Loudon Rd, Cohoes, NY 12047, in Bob's memory.
