Eagle Bridge-Raymond E. Coon, Sr., 92, of Eagle Bridge, passed away Friday, December 18, 2020 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.

Born May 14, 1928 in Cambridge, he was the son of the late John and Lilly (Davis) Coon.

Raymond was educated in Cambridge and worked for Flomatic Corp. in North Hoosick for 42 years retiring after 42 years of service.

Ray enjoyed racing stock cars.  He owned horses at the Saratoga Race Track and also the Hinsdale Race Track in Hinsdale, NH.  Years ago, his horses were housed at the Cambridge Fairgrounds.  Ray loved deer hunting.

He and his wife lived in North Hoosick for many years until they moved to Eagle Bridge in the 1990's.

He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Veronica McGrouty Coon who passed away November 9, 2012; a son, Vaughn Coon in 1967; a daughter, Lisa Jean Coon Harrington in 2013.  He was the last of his siblings to pass away.

Ray is survived by his children, Raymond E Coon, Jr. and his wife Stacia of Leesburg, FL and Geoffrey Coon of Eagle Bridge.  He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge.
