Shushan-Raymond Kenny Bates, Jr., 66, of Shushan, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born August 30, 1955 in Cambridge, he was the son of Raymond K. Bates, Sr. of Shushan and Patricia Mullen Bates of Cambridge.

Kenny attended Cambridge Central School and was a carpenter for many years.  He also worked for Peabody & Bates for several years and later worked for Richard Wirmusky maintaining properties and cemeteries in the local area.

Kenny loved woodworking, working on vehicles and deer hunting.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Raymond K. Bates, III of Hudson Falls, Heath Bates of Argyle, Jason Bates of Glens Falls and Jessica Hallock of Cambridge; his siblings, Audrey (LeRoy) Hunt of West Chazy, NY, Patricia (Richard) Bentley of Cambridge, Linda Fifield of Manchester, VT and William George (Tracy) Bates of Cambridge.  He is also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and his two canine companions, Squirt and Trixie.

A celebration of Kenny's life will be held at a later date.
