Paula Stefanie
(Darmetko) Burr
Mar 19, 1951 — Jun 7, 2026
Buskirk, NY - Paula Stefanie Burr (age 75 years) was a devoted wife, beloved mother, and proud grandmother, whose warmth touched everyone she knew.
She grew up in South Troy and graduated from Troy High School, where her journey with her high school sweetheart, Charles Patrick Burr began.
Their incredible bond spanned 59 years together, with 55 of those years spent in marriage, building a life of deep devotion and love.
Family was everything to Paula, and she took immense pride in her three sons, Chuck (Julie Corr), Chad (Kristie), and Adam (Rachel) and the beautiful families they built. She also cherished the precious gift of her grandchildren, Rylie, Brice, Alexandra, and Eden.
Known for her legendary cooking, nobody left her house hungry and her food was always prepared with an abundance of love.
Christmas was her favorite time of year and she had a unique way of making the Holiday Season truly magical for everyone around her. She loved to lead everyone at family parties, ensuring everyone sang the right words and phrases, instructing the boys on the guitars to "Do it again" whenever they made a mistake.
Paula also had a great love of the outdoors, finding joy in camping, swimming, fishing, and tending to her flowers and vegetable garden. She was also remarkably skilled with a firearm, and known as an excellent shot.
Paula also showed her love for family and extended football family by giving rides, making food, and cheering players on, win or lose, with "Good game boys!" Paula also honored her sons' requests to NEVER go on the field if they got injured.
Paula had a strong work ethic, beginning her career at Leonard Hospital in Troy, continuing at Cambridge Valley Farms. She later dedicated her time to Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge and Cambridge Central School as a bus driver, and CSEA leader.
The family would like to express their eternal gratitude to Robin (Burr) Connolly, for her strength, compassion, love, and professionalism in her sister in-law's final days.
Paula is pre-deceased by her father Julian Darmetko, mother Stella Darmetko, and her brothers Phillip and John Darmetko.
She will be deeply missed and her memory will live on with everyone she touched with her grace, strength, and polish power.
