Obituary

Cambridge, NY – Paul S. Stevens, 80, of Cambridge, passed away Friday, July 10, 2026, at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born April 20, 1946, in Sutton, Vermont, he was the son of the late Wallace and Norma (Gray) Stevens.

Paul graduated from Lyndon High School in Lyndon Center, Vermont, and later attended Bible College. He began his career at Johnson Controls in Bennington, Vermont, where he worked for many years until the plant closed. He then became an over-the-road truck driver. While living in North Carolina for several years, he continued his career before eventually returning to Cambridge, where he drove a school bus for Cambridge Central School.

A man of deep faith, Paul served as pastor of Jacob's Well Fellowship in Cambridge. His church and his relationship with God were central to his life, and he found great joy in ministering to others. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, and sharing fellowship with those around him. During high school he was a member of the ski team, and while attending college he played football. A devoted fan of the Miami Dolphins, he rarely missed following his favorite team. Paul also had a unique hobby and was known for his collection of neckties.

Paul is survived by his children, Daniel (Natasha) Stevens of West Hoosick, New York, Jason (Robin) Stevens of Concord, New Hampshire, Adam (Sarah) Stevens of Hoosick Falls, New York, Heather Stevens of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Matthew (Rachel) Stevens of Bennington, Vermont; his stepchildren, Mary (the late Keith) George of Richmond, Vermont, Mark Harrington of Bennington, Vermont, Dawn Benner of Rochester, New York, and Jonathan (Michelle) Connolly of Asheville, North Carolina; his sisters, Joy (Brad) Haddix of Searcy, Arkansas, Jeanie Stevens (David) Partlow of Oregon City, Oregon, and Brenda (Kevin) Stanford of Birmingham, Alabama; his grandchildren, David, Philip, Savannah, Tierra, Tyler, Wallace Hunter, Aaron, Zachary, Shalom, Shaddai, and Jake; his step-granddaughter, Nancy; his great-grandchildren, Bodie, Maisie, and Vivian; as well as many step-grandchildren and also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth Overchalk Stevens; his second wife, Dorothy "Dottie" Field Stevens; his brothers, David Stevens and Frank Stevens; and his sister, Joni Stevens Phillips.
