Cambridge, NY – Martha L. Beayon, 85, of Cambridge, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at her residence.
Born March 17, 1941, in Bennington, VT, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Charlotte (Howard) Lake. She was raised in South Dorset, VT, and later devoted her life to caring for her family as a homemaker and stay-at-home mother.
Martha, known to all as “Mark”, was a creative and talented woman who enjoyed painting pictures and murals. She loved working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, playing card games, and going antiquing. Mark was also involved with Girl Scouts. Purple was her favorite color.
Mark is survived by her children, Carmen (Chuck) Gates of Cambridge, Michael (Lori) Beayon of Maryland, Monica (Larry) Nolan of Eagle Bridge, Robin (Tom) Stover of Colonie, Trudy Beayon (Tom Lantz) of Ashford, MA, and Amy (James) Niles of Cambridge; her sisters, Jane (Bill) Yrsha of Cambridge and Anne (Bruce) Hodgin of Danby, VT; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to her parents, Mark was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Beayon, in May 2008; a son, Lawrence Beayon; a granddaughter, Ashley Nolan; and her siblings, Hun, Brother, Bill, Snook, Laura, and Charles.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be held at a later date.
