Obituary

Cambridge-Marjorie Kent, 87, of Cambridge, passed away Thursday morning, October 6, 2016 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.

Born in Mechanicville May 23, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth (Brenn) Gailor.

Marge graduated in 1946 from Stillwater Central School and graduated from the Mildred Elley Business School in Albany.

She worked for the Lawton & Morse Law Office in Cambridge, the Jerome Wright Insurance Company in Cambridge and retired from Dr. Carlton Cornell medical practice as the Office Manager where she worked for several years.

Marge was a member of the former Embury United Methodist Church in Cambridge.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Marshall "Mick" Kent who passed away April 21, 2005; a son, Steven J. Kent who passed away October 26, 1986; a brother-in-law, George F. Hastings, Jr. who passed away February 4, 2016.

Marge is survived by her daughter, Janis (Paul) Wakeley of Glens Falls; her sister, Eleanor G. Hastings of Cambridge; grandchildren, Hannah Wakeley, Sara Kowalski and Josh Wakeley; great grandchildren, Brenna and Ryan Kowalski; nephews, Richard (Linda) Kent, David Kent, Bill (Sandi) Hastings and Bob Hastings; close friends, Mark and Chris Palinski.

At Marge's request, a graveside service will be held privately for the family at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge with Rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating.

Memorial contributions in memory of Marge may be made to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter. 6010 County Farm Road, Ballston Spa, NY  12020 or the Cambridge Valley Rescue Squad, 37 Gilbert St., Cambridge, NY  12816.
