Rupert, VT- Marjorie F. McKeighan, 84, of Rupert, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.
She was born in Granville June 22, 1939 the daughter of the late Horace and Edith (Parker) Fisher.
Marjorie graduated from Salem Washington Academy and worked on her family's Fisher Farm in Rupert for many years. She was particularly partial to Guernsey cows.
She was a member of the Rupert United Methodist Church and had the love for cats, cactus plants, flower and vegetable gardens. Marjorie was very faithful in sending greeting cards for all occasions to many people throughout the year. She was known for having a room in her home filled with Christmas villages which drew people from all over to see them.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, James Eli McKeighan who passed away May 21, 2020; a brother, William Fisher, and a sister, Nancy Fisher.
Marjorie is survived by her cousin Jimmy Fisher many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A calling hour will be Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 12-1 pm at the McClellan-Gariepy Funeral Home, 19 East Broadway, Salem. A service will begin following the calling hour. Interment will be at the Rupert Cemetery.
