Marilyn C.
(Chapman) Lebarron
Sep 26, 1928 — May 21, 2026
Cambridge, NY - Marilyn Chapman LeBarron, of Cambridge, passed away in the early morning hours of May 21st, 2026 at Glens Falls Hospital having lived a full life.
Marilyn was born on September 26, 1928 in Hudson Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Howard and Jolean Clarisa (Meacheane) Chapman. Marilyn attended Cambridge School and later attended Beauty School in Albany. It wasn't until the 1970s that she obtained her license to practice as a beautician and enjoyed years of visiting with her many customers and friends and serving the community.
The Rice Seed Mill and Bentley Seed Co., both in Cambridge, were also places of employment but in her later years she was a proud farmer's wife. Marilyn enjoyed the simple pleasures of life like painting and crafting. Her knitting was stuff of family legend: every Christmas someone received a hat knit with love, and family photos wearing the hats were viral inside the family before "viral" was even a thing.
She was a baker, making every kind of pie she thought her family might possibly want, so that when they visited, apple, blueberry or rhubarb strawberry were always in the fridge. She loved trying new things, even mastering cross-country skiing in the 1980s and '90s. Walking up the hill through the pastures to pick nuts, apples or strawberries made her day and turned nature's bounty into incredible jams or even maple syrup.
Her daily activities included working the land at LeBarron Valley View Farm; helping her husband Loren with the haying and milking and tending to the many animals on the farm. Most of all, she loved to sit with a cup of coffee, and take in the beautiful scenery from the farm she loved so much and likely with her beloved German Shepherd at her side.
Survivors include her daughters, Justine Larado of Linwood, NJ and Dianne Fore of Burkeville, VA; her daughter-in-law, Debora LeBarron of Poestenkill, NY; her grandchildren, Jamie Sweet LeBarron, Allison Larado Oliver and her husband Neil, and Mark Larado and his wife Megan; as well as six great-grandchildren. Marilyn and Loren were blessed to have many friends that were considered extended family and neighbors who enhanced their lives.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Loren S. LeBarron who passed away June 19, 2010; her daughter, Jayne Marie LeBarron; her son, Timothy LeBarron; and her son-in-law, David Larado as well as her brothers Wilson Chapman and Howard Chapman Jr, and sisters Lena Grover, Betty Galli and Charlotte Rodriguez.
The family wishes to convey their greatest heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Cambridge for their loving care where she lived in recent years. Marilyn received excellent end of life care in the Tower 2 Unit at the Glens Falls Hospital and for this the family is very grateful.
A graveside service will be held at 1 pm Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge with Rev. Carol Finke officiating.
