Cambridge, NY - Marie Louise Spangler, 79, of Cambridge, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vermont.

Born August 26, 1946, in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Alice Martin. Marie attended Cambridge Central School and spent most of her life in Cambridge.

Marie was a dedicated and hardworking woman throughout her career. She began working at the Reis Mill in Cambridge before being employed by Porta Brace Manufacturing in Cambridge. She later worked at C.B. Sports in Bennington, Vermont, followed by Aanstadt Das in Cambridge. Her final place of employment was John Wright Dolls in Cambridge. When the company relocated to Bennington, she continued working there as a seamstress until her retirement in 2021.

Marie enjoyed making crafts, tending to her garden, and watching the birds that visited her yard. She had a special love for her pets, which brought her much happiness over the years. Above all, Marie was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother. Her family meant everything to her, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

On October 15, 1969, she married Robert D. Spangler at the Army Hospital Chapel in Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Together they shared 56 years of marriage filled with love and devotion.

Besides her husband, Robert, she is survived by her daughter, Paula Sue (Arthur) Haytko of Bennington, Vermont; and her two cherished grandchildren, Zachary David Haytko of Quaker Hill, Connecticut, and Anastasia Laine (Jay) Haytko of Montpelier, Vermont.

Calling hours are Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 2-4 pm at the Ackley, Ross & Gariepy Funeral Home, 73 West Main Street, Cambridge, NY.
