Buskirk, NY - Luke Aric Johnston, 34, of Buskirk, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

Born November 4, 1991, in Cambridge, NY, he was the son of Darwin "Pete" and Dawn (Hartshorn) Johnston of Buskirk.

Luke was a 2011 graduate of Cambridge Central School. After graduation, he worked for the Town of Cambridge Highway Department, followed by several years at Cambridge Valley Machining. Most recently, he worked as a machinist at Ross Precision Manufacturing in Green Island.

Luke enjoyed spending his time riding dirt bikes and four-wheelers, as well as shooting at the gun range. He had a passion for working with his hands, especially rebuilding cars and trucks. He was also a member of the Stateline Riders in Pittstown, NY. Luke had a giving heart and was the kind of person who would show up for anyone, at any time, without hesitation. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Luke is survived by his sister, Taylor Johnston of Buskirk. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Services will be private.
