Obituary

Cambridge, Town of Jackson-Lawrence A. Glucs, 84, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday morning, September 28, 2016 at Glens Falls Hospital. Born August 11, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the youngest son of the late Andrew and Margaret (Stas) Glucs. Larry was a graduate of Bishop Loughlin High School in Brooklyn and attended City University of New York (CUNY) in New York City.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. Larry was an Account Executive on the Coca Cola Account for McCann Erickson Advertising in New York for over twenty years.   He retired in 1988 to his beloved cabin in the Cambridge area and loved living in Washington County. Larry was a military airplane enthusiast and enjoyed reading books about history. His family was very important to him and he always enjoyed sharing a good meal.  He attended St. Patrick's Church in Cambridge and also Holy Cross Church in Salem. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his siblings, Irene Lee, John Glucs, Joseph Glucs & Theresa Frazer. Larry is survived by 13 nieces and nephews and 24 great nieces and nephews who will greatly miss his lively conversations and strong independent style. Calling hours will be Monday, October 3, 2016 from 3-5 pm at the Ackley, Ross & Gariepy Funeral Home, 73 West Main St., Cambridge. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:00 am Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at St. Patrick's Church, 17 South Park Street, Cambridge. Interment with military honors will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. Memorial contributions in memory of Larry may be made to St. Patrick's Church, 17 South Park Street, Cambridge, NY  12816.
