Cambridge-Katherine May Lapinski, 99, of Cambridge, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Mary's Haven in Saratoga Springs.

Katherine was born September 3, 1919 in Kenvil, NJ the daughter of the late Charles and Blanche (Leighton) Traverse.

She was educated in Morristown, NJ and worked for AT&T in Newark, NJ.  She also worked for H.L. Greens Department Store in Succasunna, NJ.  Afterwards, she worked for several families in New Jersey as a cook and caretaker.

Katherine enjoyed crocheting, playing the piano by ear, writing poetry, gardening and collecting dolls.

In addition to her parents, Katherine was predeceased by a son, James Lapinski; a daughter, Mary Lou Ward; a grandson, David Ward; a brother, Charles Traverse and a sister, Ella Bucci.

Katherine is survived by her 2 sons, Benjamin L. Lapinski of Ledgewood, NJ and Charles Lapinski and his wife Nancy of Cambridge.  She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Katherine's funeral will be on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Ackley, Ross & Gariepy Funeral Home, 73 West Main St., Cambridge with Pastor Mike Crandall officiating.

Interment will follow the service at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge.
