Cambridge-John "Jack" C. Waite, 79, of Cambridge, passed away Tuesday night, November 27, 2018 at Saratoga Hospital.

Jack was born in Greenwich on April 25, 1939 and was the son of the late Frank and Margaret (Cassidy) Waite.

Jack attended Salem Washington Academy and worked for William J. Keller Construction in Castleton, NY as a heavy equipment operator for 38 years retiring in 2005.

Jack loved hunting, ice fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.  At one time, he was a member of the Coon & Cat Club in Salem.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two wives, Gloria Balestra Waite and Dorothy Woodcock Waite; a son, John Waite; a daughter, Shirley Waite; grandchildren, Michael Waite, Jr. and Nicole Waite; a sister, Patricia McMorris.

Jack is survived by his children, Pamela (Douglas) Saunders of Bennington, VT, Joseph (Janet) Waite of Dorset, VT, Michael (Floreen) Waite, Sr. of North Springfield, VT, Linda Matteson of Manchester Center, VT and Frank (Brittany) Waite of Cambridge; sisters, Jean (Robert) Close of Fairhaven, VT, Judith Howenstein of Corinth and Marlene (Gary) Wilson of Granville.  He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 11 am to 1 pm on Monday, December 3, 2018 at the McClellan-Gariepy Funeral Home, 19 East Broadway, Salem.

Interment will be at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge at a later date.
