Stillwater-Jeffrey M. Gariepy, Jr., 35, of Stillwater, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 19, 2023.

He was born March 16, 1987 in Troy, he was the son of Jeffrey M. Gariepy, Sr. (Bonnie) of Schaghticoke and Sandra Taylor (Tish Brownell) of Leesburg, FL.

Jeff graduated from Mechanicville High School in 2006 and attended Hudson Valley Community College and SUNY Geneseo where he earned an associate's degree.

Jeff grew up in Mechanicville.  He worked at the family business, Sub King Pizza & Pasta in Mechanicville for several years and was currently working at United Parcel Service in Latham.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and collecting antiques.  Jeff was a sports enthusiast, especially a fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants.  He was an animal lover but most of all the love of his children was his biggest joy.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Amy Rickard Gariepy whom he married August 6, 2016; his children, Hannah Rickard, Taylor Gariepy and Addison Gariepy, all of Stillwater; his parents, Jeffrey M. Gariepy, Sr. (Bonnie) of Schaghticoke and Sandra Taylor (Tish Brownell) of Leesburg, FL; paternal grandparents, Leo & Beverly Gariepy of Green Island; maternal grandmother, Shirley Taylor of Cohoes; father and mother-in-law, Randall and Sue Rickard of Little Falls; siblings, Joshua Paul Finkle (Sara Loux) of Niskayuna, Kayci Finkle (Jeremy Morris) of Mechanicville, Monica Wells (Paul Johnson) of Wynantskill and Rachel Lematty (Curtis Childers) of South Bend, IN; a brother-in-law, Jason (Lexie) Rickard of Wasilla, AK.  Jeff is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Harry Taylor.

Calling hours will be from 10-12 pm Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 319 Park Ave., Mechanicville where a funeral service will begin at 12 pm with Rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating.

Interment will be at Millertown Cemetery in Johnsonville.

Because of Jeff's love of animals, memorial contributions in his honor may be made to The Pinkie Fund, 4321 State Route 22, Salem, NY  12865. (The fund will help pet owners receive veterinary care for their beloved pets who would otherwise not be able to).  Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
